Day 17: #Create30 The 10-Minute Idea
Setting a timer and trying to beat the clock is a great way to gamify tasks. Most of the time, the blockers we set for ourselves are as simple as "I don't have time for that" or, even worse, "I could never finish what I want to do in the small amount of free time I have."
Set a timer, 10 minutes to start, and try to do the thing for 10 minutes. DO THE THING for that period. You will almost instantly find that you will pass that timer bell.
You also feel like you're beating the clock when you complete a task you've been dreading (sorting and putting away all the laundry). Completing the task feels good, especially when you are already overwhelmed with the ever-growing to-do list.
You will be amazed at how much more you can get into a day if you set a timer for the tasks you don't want to do.
And another thing, Be easy on yourself. You got this.
