Shill as a Service™

Shill: an accomplice of a hawker, gambler, or swindler who acts as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others.

There is a lot of talk about shilling software on social media. Shill feels like the wrong word. It's a Sponsorship, an ad spot (we all know you love ads).

Being paid to talk about a product on your podcast or video is an honor, a massive privilege.

Do some research, you should enjoy/use the product you are talking about.

Also, if you are "shilling" software. I assume you are either getting paid for it, or you have a special interest you haven't disclosed.
